Trash Removal

As part of ECWCD’s many duties, we are committed to improving the water quality of our stormwater system.  Of the many components that make the pollutants that degrade our system, trash is the most obvious.  Trash is generated from vehicles, yard waste and solid waste sources.  Because canals are the low point in the landscape, most trash ends up our water system.  On a year-round basis trash is skimmed  from our system or staff removes the trash by hand.  Up to 50,000 lbs of trash are removed each year.
