Mowing

The District mows its canal’s and lake’s right of ways at least three times per year.  The mowing is performed on the flats and slopes to provide in priority order:

1. A safe passageway for District vehicles and private pedestrians,
2. The ability for the Plant Control operators to apply herbicides in canals and lakes,
3. Proper erosion control by promotion of grasses,
4. Elimination of noxious weeds and young trees,
5. Beautification and aesthetics.
